The day's top showbiz news and headlines including Madonna arrives in Israel, Keira Knightley gets engaged, and Robert Pattinson debuts his latest film in Cannes.


Madonna has hit the Holy Land. The queen of pop arrived in Israel Friday (May 25) just ahead of the launch of her latest world tour, MDNA - set to kick off in Tel Aviv on May 29. Madonna's tour will take her to Europe, South and North America and Australia throughout the summer and fall.

Keira Knightley is engaged. The actress is set to marry musician James Righton, the keyboard player for the rock group Klaxons. Knightley's publicist said the couple were not releasing any details of the proposal and did not have any comment on wedding plans.

Robert Pattinson premiered his latest film, "Cosmopolis" at the Cannes Film Festival. The star greeted a hysterical crowd, signed autographs, and even snapped a few photos with some lucky fans.

Speaking of Cannes, stars of music, cinema, and fashion were out in force for the annual amfAR fundraiser. Diane Kruger walked a red carpet at the event. As did Kylie Minogue, Alec Baldwin, and Janet Jackson. The event was aimed at raising money to support AIDS research charities.
